DRIVEN ASHORE
FISHING CRAFT DISABLED CREW SAFE AND UNINJURED (Per United Press Association) HOKITIKA, June 18. The fishing vessel Tiani Anani, which went to sea on Tuesday morning, broke her cranking handle in the afternoon, and the vessel has lain at sea since. This morning an attempt was made to sail her over the bar, but the wind fell and the vessel drifted into the breakers, being washed ashore half a mile northwards. The crew of three are safe. They had been short of food and water while on board the vessel, but were uninjured.
