The following Is the official weather forecast:— A rather rigorous depression of the westerly type has been crossing the Dominion to-day, while an antl-cyclono extends from Australia over the North Tasman Sea on to the northern districts. Indications are for: Winds—Westerly at first north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura; south-westerlies thence southwards, and extending shortly over most of the Dominion; moderate to strong generally and of gale force at places. ‘ Seas—New Zealand Waters—Rough on the West Coast and off shore south of Castlepolnt; moderate north of Castlepolnt, but rising offshore.—Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate lo strong south-west winds, with rather rouglf to rough seas. , Weather —Changeable and squally, 'with showers In most districts; hall probable oa parts of the coastal areas of the South Island and snow: on the ranges; temperatures cold.

REMUERA REPORTS. The New Zealand Shipping Company has received a wireless report from the Remuera. Homeward bound from Wellington, that the weather Is unfavourable but all on board are welt. WAIKOUAITPS MOVEMENTS The Walkoualtl Is now expected to leave Sydney on Monday for Bluff and Dunedin anil Is duo here on June 28. TAMATEA LEAVES. The Tamatea, which came to Dunedin on Wednesday In order to have new engines placed on board, moved from her berth at the Rattray street wharf yesterday morning to Port Chalmers, where the new machinery will be Installed. MATAROA'S ITINERARY. The National Mortgage and Agency Company advises that the Malacca will leave Lyttelton on Monday evening for Port Chalmers, where she Is duo on Tuesday to complete discharge and commence Homeward loading. Shu will sail on Juno 27 for Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland to complete and will clear the last port Anally on July 11.

COASTWISE MOVEMENTS. Tlolmglcu ls‘ to load here to-day and Is to sail this evening for Wellington, New Plymouth and Port Waikato, via ports. Gale Is now duo here on Tuesday from Bluff and Is to sail on Wednesday for Tlmaru, Ljttelton, Wellington and Wanganui ICaru reached Dunedin yesterday afternoon after meeting unfavourable weather conditions on the voyage from New Plymouth. She Is to load out to-day for Wellington. Nelson and New Plymouth, via ports. Walplata Is due here to-morrow from Bluff and Is to sail the same day for Tlmaru, Lyttelton, ' Wellington and Auckland. CHANGE OF NAME. It Is understood that the coastal vessel Patera, which was recently purchased by the Holm Company, has been renamed the Holmlea. She Is scheduled to load at Dunedin on Juno 2(i for New Plymouth and Port Waikato. WAITAKI SAILS. After undergoing cleaning and painting and some minor repairs at Port Chalmers, the Union Company's Intercolonial freighter Waltaki sailed yesterday morning for Bluff and Melbourne. THE ANTIOPE. The Autiope arrived at Auckland from Bunbtiry, via Port Kembla on Juno M with a cargo of Australian hardwood. She called at Port Kcmhla to replenish her bunkers and during the passage from there to Auckland exceptionally line weather was experienced. The vessel will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. She Is due here early In July.
