TALBOYS HOME
The monthly concert organised by the South Dunedin branch of the New Zealand Labour Party was held at the Talboys Home on Wednesday night. A bright, happy and enthusiastic spirit prevailed. Tho major portion of tho programme was given by the combined Bible classes of Maori Hill and Mornington. Other visiting artists took part, and the following programme was rendered: —Musical trios, Messrs Mawer, King, sen., and King, jun., also Messrs Faulkner Bros, and Miss Thomson; songs, Misses Thomson, Morrison, Stcdiman, Kirkham and Smeltz, Mrs Magan, and Messrs Ivan Hanna, Ivan Jones, Steward, Fox, M’Lelland and White. The accompanists were Misses Thomson and Morrison, Messrs King, jun., and Perry. Choruses were rendered by the combined Bible classes.
During the evening parties went to the hospital wards and rendered music and songs. The women distributed sweets to the old folk. Mr Ruth thanked all those who rendered such a splendid programme. Mr Mungo Hutton, on behalf of tho inmates, thanked all for their splendid programme, which "was endorsed with acclamation.
