FRIESIAN BREEDERS
SOUTHLAND’S CHAMPION COW (Peb United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., June 18. It was announced at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Friesian Association to-day that a cow' owned by Messrs Koyds and Williams, of Five Rivers, Southland, had just completed a period of test with an average of 5.31, a record for the breed in New Zealand, if not in the world. During the period of the test 11,0831 b of milk were produced and 586.01 b of butter-fat. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr H. E. Johnson (Tokoinaru) ; vice-presidents, Messrs D. J. M'Gowan (Auckland) and J. Hart (Morrinsville). The four members of the council arc Messrs O. A. Cadwallador, H. E. Johnson, D. J. M'Gowan and E. M. North. Mr E. C. Banks, of Tauranga, was elected a life member.
