HIGH SPEEDS ATTAINED (British Official Wireless* RUGBY, June 15. Tlio Junior International Tourist Trophy over 204 miles at the Isle of Man nag won by F. L. Frith, driving a Norton, in 3hr ITinin (isee, an average speed of 80.14 miles an hour. White, on another Norton, was second with an average speed of 77.97 miles an hour. 13. A. Mellors, on a Velocettc, was third with an average of 77.91 miles an hour. James Guthrie, the winner for the last two years, was disqualified after leading for four laps. He broke his own lap record of 80.11 miles an hour, which was also beaten by Frith, who set a new lap record of 81.94 miles an hour. Frith’s winning total time broke Guthrie’s previous record by 2min 28sec. Guthrie’s disqualification was cancelled after the authorities had heard the evidence. The value of the second prize (£7O), which he would probably have won, was awarded to the Nortons, who win the team prize.
