WHEAT FROM AUSTRALIA
SHIPMENT FOR AUCKLAND STRENGTHENING DOMINION FLOUR (Pee United Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 15. In spite of the Government's decision to prohibit the importation of wheat, a shipment of 4000 tons from Australia was landed by the Kairanga at Auckland on Thursday last. A circular issued by an Auckland merchant states that this wheat was imported by the Government to supply local mills. The circular states that it is understood that the wheat would be used by the Auckland mills to strengthen New Zealand flour, which had recently shown signs of weakness. It was stated that the Government had not yet decided to continue to import wheat from Australia.
