DAIRYING INDUSTRY
OUTPUT OF WAIKATO FACTORIES PREVIOUS RECORDS ECLIPSED (Feb United Press Association) / HAMILTON, June 13. Returns now available covering the company's total production during the past season show that all previous records of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company have been eclipsed, the increased butter production amounting to 5410 tons at the company's 16 butter factories. The outputs ranged from 1000 tons at Ngongotaha to 6385 tons at Waliaroa, while atTtlie 18 cheese factories the quantities manufactured varied from 288 tons to 1029. The output of butter at Waliaroa represented an increase of 21 per cent., while at the other factories substantial increases were recorded. The increased demand resulted in a substantial increased output of casein and a greater output of milk powder was being quickly absorbed by overseas markets. It has been decided by the company on account of the improved conditions on the United Kingdom market to make an advance of a shilling per pound for butter and Is ljd for butter-fat.
For cheese the output of the othffir Waikato co-operative and proprietary company also increased substantially, a reflection of the exceptional dairy season experienced in the Waikato.
