GANGER'S SUDDEN DEATH (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 13. \ well-known railway employee, Edward Tucker Osborne, aged 50, i, ganger, residing with his wife and family at Oraki, collapsed and died in the locomotive foreman's office this morning. Ihe death was certified as being due to heart failure. He had been in the employ ot the Railways Department for 29 years. DROWNING FATALITY in . United Press association) INVERCARGILL, Juno 14. A drowning fatality occurred at Gore to-day, a child aged two and a-half years falling into the Mataura River. the child was Murray Gordon, son of Mr anil Mrs A. V. Gordon. He was missed early this- afternoon and when a search was made he was found in the river. lho indications were that he had not been in tbe-water very long, but artificial respiration was resultless
FOOTBALLERS INJURED James Henderson, aged 22 years, single, residing at 76 Russell street, was admitted to the Hospital at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday suffering from concussion caußed when he was injured while playing football for Kaikorai against Dunedin at the Caledonian Ground. «».«,«• When playing football for West Taieri against Alhambra at Outram on Saturday, Stanley Low, aged 31 years, married, reiddin" at Outram, suffered a fractured left leg. The injured man was admitted to the Hospital at 6.30.
A FRACTURED LEG
Evelvn Holland, aged five years, fractured her left leg when sl;e fell at her home at 22 Alma street on Saturday afternoon. The injured girl was admitted to the Hospital at 4.45. KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR CAR On Saturday evening John M'Millan, aged seven years, residing at 67 Harbour terrace, was knocked down by a motor car at the corner of Harbour terrace and Union street. The boy, who suffered a fractured right leg, was admitted to the HosDital at'7.3o. GORED WHILE YARDING CATTLE While working in a yard with cattle over the week-end, John Douglas, of Waikouaiti, was charged by one of the animals, which gored him in the right forearm. He was taken to the Dunedin Hospital for treatment.
