SELF-SURGERY
In hospital at Williams Lake. British Columbia, recently, a trapper. Dan Crawlev, related how he operated upon himself to save his life as he waited for several davs in o cabin in the frozen wilderness for heln. With a jack knife Crawley cut away parts of both frozen feet when "anfene Bet in after his partner To" Vaehon. had left him in their cabin 4 r _ miles from Blue River to summon medica 1 aid. Crawley was out on his traplin" when he discovered his feet were frozen and only just manaced to reach the cabin Vaehon and he tried to thaw the injured limbs, but, in spite of their efforts, gangrene set in, and Vaehon set out for help.
