The following Is the official weather forecast A depression Is moving eastwards off New Zealand, and an anti-cyclone Is approaching across the Tasman Sea. ■ Indications are for: Winds—Moderate to strong south-westerly to, southerly: of gale force on parts of the east coast, but gradually decreasing. Seas—New Zealand Waters—Rough about Foveaux Strait, and rather rough to rough north of Farewell Spit and south of Bast Cape; elsewhere moderate.—Eastern Tasman SeaModerate to strong southerly winds, and rather rough seas, but wind and sea soon moderating. Weather—Cold and changeable, with passing showers In most districts, but conditions gradually Improving from the westward.

KARETU FROM SYDNEY. From Newcastle and Sydney, via Bluff, the Union Company’s Intercolonial cargo vessel Karelu Is due to-day. After discharging the local portion of hor cargo, the Karelu will sail for Lyttelton. Tlmaru, and Oamaru to complete discharge. a ' PA.RRACOMBK FROM OCEAN ISLAND. The Parracombo arrived at Dunedin early yesterday morning from Lyttelton to complete discharge of her phosphate cargo from Ocean Island at Ravcnsbourne. CANADIAN BRITISHER EARLIER. Tlie Canadian Britisher, en route from Halifax, Is now due at Auckland on Saturday, and at Wellington on June 18 to discharge. NORFOLK DUE TO-DAY, The Federal steamer Norfolk Is due here this morning from northern ports to complete discharge of her cargo from London and West Coast ports. Sho will commence Homeward loading here, and will complete at Bluff, Lyttelton, Wellington, New Plymouth, and Auckland. KENT TO DISCHARGE. From London, via Suva, the steamer Kent arrived here yesterday afternoon and berthed at the Victoria wharf. The vessel will discharge a quantity of general cargo from London and West of England ports, and will sail on Sunday for Lyttelton and Tlmaru to complete. She will,then commence Homeward loading at Oamaru, completing at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Wellington and Napier. MAUI FOMARE ARRIVES. After a rather rough passage, the Government motor ship Maul Pomare arrived at Lyttelton on Monday evening from Apia and Niue. The vessel left Niue at 9 p.m. an May 30, and for moat of the run to Lyttelton had to contend with a southerly head wind and sea. On Monday morning the Maul Pomare ran Into calmer weather, but met with fog several times between the Kalkoura - Peninsula and LytteltoThe Maul Pomare brought 7100 rases of bananas, 11 tons of kumeras, five tons of cocoa, and general eargo from Apia, and 2500 cases of bananas from Niue. . , The following passengers arrived by the vessel Misses M.
