MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday, and was attended by Messrs J. Torrance (chairman), G. Livingstone, J. R. M'Culloch, M. A. Kinney, and D. M'Lennan. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. Alexander Semple, of Lowburn, shepherd, applied for a mining district land occupation lease over 5a Or 30p now known as section 54, block V, Wakefield S.D.—Lease granted at a capital value of £25, subject to the surrender of the existing residence site licences over portion of the area. Application of J. L. Paul for a right to occupy over sections 3 and 4, block XVI, town of Havelock (area 16a Or 35p) previously held by him under mining district land occupation lease. — Granted at an annual rental of 10s, subject to'the right to occupy being terminable on the area being required by the mining company for the commencement of mining operations. Application of Wiley Bros, for al renewal lease .over sections 2,3, 5 and 8, block XIV, Lower Wanaka S.D., 829 a 3r 27p. —Declined. Application of William J. Haines, Tuapeka Mouth, for a raining district land occupation lease over section 119, block I, Waitahuna West S.D., area 6a Ir 05p. —Granted a mining district land occupation lease. APPLICATION FOR LICENCE. Application by A. G. Howard for a miscellaneous licence over section 40, block I, Gatlins S.D., 5a 2r.—Application granted on an annual rental of 10s subject to the rent owing under M.L. 2003 to date of cancellation, ss, being paid. EXPIRY OF PERPETUAL LEASE. Section 42, block I, Hawkcsbury S.D., held by D. J. Ireland, area 10a Or OOp.— Lessee to be offered a renewal for a term of 21 years from July 1, 1939. Section 61, block 11, Hawkesbury S.D., held by D. J. Ireland, area 14a lr 07p.— Lessee to be offered a renewal for a term of 21 years from July 1, 1939, DISPOSAL OF LAND. Application by R. Harrington and Co., Ltd., for a further sawmill licence over 20 acres in block I, Tautuku S.D. —Year-to-year right granted as from May 12, 1030. at an annual rental of £l. CONVERSION OF O.R.P. LICENCE. The board was requested to fix the amount of the deposit payable for the deferred payment licence to be issued over section 6, block 11. Lower Shotover S.D., held by D. T. Anderson, area 257 a amount was fixed at £7. PERMISSION TO OCCUPY. Mra E. M. Secular applied for permission to occupy area at head of Lake Hawea, on run 430 a (crib site), area lr, at present held under miscellaneous licence in the estate of J. A. O’Kane. —Permission granted, at an annual rental of 5s from November 11, 1935. Mrs Sarah Drain applied for permission to occupy part sections 22 and 23, block I, Waitahuna West S.D., area approximately 3Ja. —Permission granted, at an annual rental of 10a. J. D. Lockett applied for permission to occupy section 118, town of Papatowai ( - 4a 2r 3p), being portion of area included in miscellaneous licence held by K. Ross. —Permission granted, at an annual rental of 10s from June 10, 1930. Charles Bathgate and Eva Olive Bathgate applied for permission to occupy section 26, block VIII, Glenkenich S.D., area 3a lr 14p, at present held under miscellaneous licence estate of Peter Eskdale.—Permission granted, at an annual rental of 5s from January 0, 1036. E. Cameron applied for permission to occupy Crown land lying between the Taieri River and sections 27. 28, 29, block XIV, Strath-Taieri, 11a 3r Op, at iiresent held under miscellaneous licence )y W. G. Thompson.—Held over for report. EDUCATION RESERVE LEASE. The question of the disposal of section 1, block XXV, town of Waihola, held by A. E. Andrews, w’as submitted for the consideration of the board, area lr.—Decision of November 13, 1936, rescinded, and a year-to-year right to occupy granted to A. B. Andrews, at an annual rental of 10s. “ FIFTHS ” OF FOREST REVENUE. Proposals for the expenditure of £l4O 10s sd, “ fifths ” of forest revenue accrued to the Clutha County Council for the period January 1 to March 31. 1930, were approved. Proposals for the expenditure of £O, “ fifths ” of forest revenue accrued to the Lake County Council for the period January 1 to March 31, 1936, were approved. “THIRDS,” ETC. The Lake County Council submitted proposals for the expenditure of “ thirds,” etc., for the period ended April 30, 1936, amounting to £l2 6s lOd.— Receiver authorised to pay. Similar proposals were received from the Tuapeka County Council (£3O 9s 4d), Waitaki County Council (£2 Is 4d), Alexandra Borough Council (15s 9d), and Vincent County Council (£49 10s 4s). —Receiver authorised to pay. Maniototo County Council (£ll6 13s 2s), Taieri County Council (£lO 8s 4d), and Waikouaiti County Council (£23 13s 8d) were also received, and the receiver authorised to pay. TRANSFERS.
