The following Is the official weather forecast;— A shallow depression has been crossing the northern part of the North Island to-day, while a deeper, one of the westerly typo has been advancing on to the South Island; an .Intense anil-cyclone covers eastern Australia and Is moving on to the Tasman Sea. Indications are for: Winds—Moderate to strong northerly to westerly, reaching gale force at places about Cook and Foveaux Straits: backing to southerly soon in the far south and southerlies or southwesterlies extending over most of the Dominion within the next 24 to 36 hours. Seas—New Zealand Waters—Rough south of Capo Egmont and In the Cook and Foveaux Straits areas; elsewhere moderate, but later rising on the cast coast of the South Island. WalmU arrived here yesterday morning from Bluff and sailed last night for Oamaru. Tlmaru and Lyttelton to complete loading for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. Port Whangarel is due here this morning from northern ports and Is to sail Ibis evening for Wellington, Auckland, Tauranga and Whangarei, via ports. Parera is now expected at Dunedin to-morrow to load and sail for Wellington, New Plymouth and Dargavllle, via Tlmaru and Lyttelton. Walmarlno Is to discharge general cargo from northern ports here to-day, and Is to sail In the afternoon for Bluff, She will return to Dunedin on Saturday to load for Wellington aud Auckland, via Tlmaru and Lyttelton. ... Klwltea was to leave Westport on Monday for Tlmaru and Dunedin and Is scheduled to reach this port on Saturday. From Dunedin the Klwltea will proceed to Bluff and Greymouth. WAITAKI IN PORT. The Union Company’s intercolonial freighter Waltaki arrived here yesterday morning from Melbourne, via Bluff. After discharging a quantity of Australian cargo, the Waltaki sailed yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton and Wellington to complete discharge. KARETU DUE TO-DAY. The Karetu is due here this morning from Newcastle aud Sydney, via Bluff. She Is to sail later, (or Lyjtelton,,Tlmaru and Oamaru. CORONATION SAILINGS. The Union Steam Ship Company has received advice from the Orient Company that the Orama. leaving Sydney on March 24, will be the last vessel arriving In London In time for the Coronation. The Orford will now sail on January 1 and the Ormonde on January Uangitata was timed to leave New Zealand on April 8, but In view of the coronation ceremonies on May 12, she will now leave on April 7 with liberty to call at or off Plymouth. Passengers will have the option of landing at Plymouth and should reach London on May 9. Those proceeding to Loudon in the vessel will arrive there on May 10. The Rotorua, which was scheduled to leave New Zealand on February 20, will not leave now until March 2.

PARRACOAIBE WITH PHOSPHATES. The Parracombe Is flue here from Lyttelton this morning to complete discharge at Ravonshourne of her cargo of phosphates from Ocean Island. RANGITATA’S ALTERED SCHEDULE. The Rangltata, which is to leave London on .Tune 25 for New Zealand, will now discharge her cargo first at Port Chalmers, where she Is duo on July 29, and will go thence to Auckland. . TANKER ECLIPSE. With bulk motor spirit for the Vacuum Dll Company, the tanker Eclipse Is due at Auckland about June 28 from Sumatra. She will later complete discharge at Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin. KENT DUE TO-DAY. The Kent, from London, via Suva, Is expected lo reach the Heads early this morning. The vessel will discharge cargo from West Coast ports here and at Lyttelton and Tlmarn, and will then commence Homeward loading at Oamaru, completing at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Wellington and Napier. EMPIRE STAR AT BLUFF

The Blue Star liner Empire Star arrived at Bluff from the Homeland on Sunday. Leaving London on May 7 In ballast, the voyage out was made via Panama, Curacao being also called at for fuel. Good weather was experienced till Pitcairn Island was passed, when a change was encountered, with heavy seas which enforced a,reduction of speed. Before and after lids the Empire Star was averaging IS and 19 knots, and it seemed certain a record run from England to New Zealand would have been established but for the break. The vessel’s arrival created much Interest at Bluff, as it was her first visit to the port, her Itinerary on her first voyage not embracing Bluff.
