THE WEATHER
Yesterday was calm, with low-lying fog in the morning and evening. The barometer fell sharply throughout the day. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND. June 9. A light north-east wind and overcast, threatening weather prevailed to-day. Light rain was experienced during the morning, and frequent and heavier showers during the late afternoon and evening. After falling to 30.00 inches by the afternoon the barometer remained steady. WELLINGTON, June 9. Mild, overcast conditions prevailed today, with light rain falling at times. There was a moderate to strong northerly wind. The minimum temperature during last night was 50.1 degrees, and the maximum to-day 55.0 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, June 9. The weather to-day was fine and warm, with a maximum temperature of 59.1 degrees. A very light easterly breeze in the morning changed to light north-north-east in the afternoon. The barometer, after falling, is now steady at 29.70 inches.
