AT WINGATUI
The rveather was mild at Wingatui yesterday morning when most of the training operations took place on the tan track.
Nardoo (H. Spratt) gave an improving display over four hurdles. H. Spratt. who has been schooling the Paladin gelding, contemplates taking out a licence to ride over jumps, Drinkup led Darien at the end of half a mile on the grass in 59sec. Half Note did strong work over about a circuit and sprinted three furlongs in 42sec. •
Violenta, who is inclined to tear away at the' start of her work, got through a useful task. She wears side reins and left five furlongs behind in Imin 7sec Travenna and Costume, after trotting and cantering, broke away at the fivefurlong post and the former was waiting with his companion whep concluding m Imin ssec. Red Lance and Te Ahuarangi were responsible for a strong working gallop over nine furlongs. Golden King, Salmo Salar and Daring Deed began in front of the stand and ran the last seven furlongs of a circuit in Imin 34 3-ssec. They kept together throughout without being fullv extended. Vantoon and The Jeweller covered six furlongs in Imin 22 2-ssec. Grand Finale was restricted to halfpace work. Master Anomaly, Hula Belle and others got through useful tasks. Roval Pal and Look Smart were schooled over a round of the hurdles.
