WRECKAGE ON BEACH
FURTHER DISCOVERIES PORTION OF MAST FOUND (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 9. The postmaster at Porangahau reports that a young Maori discovered last Friday morning a mast broken oil' measuring at the bottom 18 inches square and three feet in height. He also discovered a number of heavy nine-foot planks. They were lying at high water mark near the spot where rockets were reported to have been seen by the Kartigi. The Maori stated that he was not aware of the reported wreck, otherwise he would have made known his discovery earlier. Another hatch cover nine feet seven inches by 18 inches with L. F. painted in red letters was discovered by Mr Jim Hunter on the Blackhead side of Porangahau River.
