TAXI-DRIVER HOLD-UPS
PERMISSION SOUGHT TO CARRY ARMS SYDNEY, May 24. , (Received May 25, at 0.30 a.m.) There has been an epidemic of holdups of taxi-drivers in Sydney during recent months. The position has become so alarming that the drivers are seeking permission to carry firearms. Two more were robbed last night by armed men who commandeered their ears and compelled the drivers to ride in the reaP seat to lonely parts, where they relieved them of their money. The police to-night arrested two men suspected of this class of crime.
