FLYING FLEA
FIRST DOMINION REGISTRATION FLIGHT LIMITS IMPOSED (Feb United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 2:!. The first Flying Fea to fly in New Zealand lias been granted n certificate of registration, but not a certificate of airworthiness. The civil aviation branch of the Defence Department thus limit's the Flea's llights to within three miles of a licensed aorodrome as an experimental aircraft, and it must be flown by a licensed pilot onlv.
The Director of Air Services said yesterday that the department has no intention of granting certificates of airworthiness to these craft pending further advice from Britain. In any case, it would be difficult to arrange the compulsory third-party insurance policy of £SOOO required in England. The Flea is at Auckland, and was built by two licensed ground engineers —Messrs A. M'Oruer and P. D. Downey. It bears the lettering ZM—AAB, the first of the ZM group.
