ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

NORTHERN CLUB The forty-ninth annual meeting of the Northern Association Football Club was held in the club’s pavilion last evening, the president, Mr J ( . C. Rigby, presiding over a large attendance of members and supporters. The chairman, moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, congratulated the club on its fine position, but staled that there wag room for improvement in the support accorded to the train tvs last season. Referring to the finance, he said the credit balance was satisfactory, but the fact that the club had had very few matches on its own ground last season had affected the collections. If two clubs in the competition were given home and home matches he saw no reason why the other clubs should not be treated similarly. _ Their supporters in the district bad a right to see them play on their own ground. M'Lean, J. Wheeler, H. Cullen and C. (Jadman had been members of the Second Grade representative team. Mr T. Rnddiman referred to the coming jubilee of the club and mentioned that it was the oldest in the Dominion, with a fine record behind it.
