FEAT OF ENDURANCE
« FAST JOURNEY ON FOOT STUDENT FULFILS BET LONDON, March 13. (Received March 14, at 5.5 p.m.) Winning about £3OO in wagers by a feat, John Alastair Timpson, a second year undergraduate, trotted on blistered feet to the front gate of Trinity College, Cambridge, and shook hands with the head porter in fulfilment of a bet that he would walk the 100 miles from Cambridge to St. Paul’s, Loudon, and bad; in 24 hours. He won with a margin of 58 minutes.
