A commission to inquire into the system of rating in the Hawke's Bay rivers district and other matters is to be requested from the Government by the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board, according to a decision reached by the board the other day. It is hoped that before the loan poll in connection with the Ngaruroro control works is taken on March 25 next advice will have been received of the Government's reply to the application. Speaking in support of the motion, Mr Lassen said that the matters to which it referred had arisen from discussions which had taken place at board meetings from time to time.
