A THRONE FOR A BACHELOR KING A striking reminder of the bachelorhood of the new King is provided in the House of Lords. Where formerly two thrones stood behind the Woolsack, one for the King and the other for the Queen, with a chair for the Prince of Wales, there is now only one throne.
