HARBOUR BOARD PICNIC

The Otaßo Harbour Board employees held their annual picnic at the Waitati Show Ground on Saturday. The day broke gloriously fine and about 250 picnickers journeyed by special train, and after a lew minutes' walk from Waitati Station they arrived at the ground, which is in a well-sheltered position. Ra.in which commenced to fall during the late afternoon caused an adjournment to the Good Templars' Hall, where a community sing was conducted by Mr George Burt. During the day Mr Waters, chairman of the board, was in attendance. The following is the list of prize-winners:— Single Men's Handicap. 120 Yards.—A. Reeve 1, W. Grundy 2. N. Davidson 3. Sniffle Ladies' Handicap, 100 Yards.— Miss K. Burns 1, Miss J. Calder 2, Miss N. Fuller 3. Married Men's Handicap, Employees, 100 Yards.—J. R. Kenyon 1, H. Kent 2, G. Morrison 3. Married Ladies' 75 Yards. —Mrs C. Lee 1, Mix S. Jarvis 2, Mrs S. Callow 3. Harbour Board Handieap (employees only), 100 Yards.—G. Morrison 1, H. Kent 2. A. Reeve 3.
