Concern is expressed by ofhcials or the Waikauae Beach Improvement Society (says the Poverty Bay Herald) at the damage done to the pohutukawa trees which the society has been endeavourintr to crow on the ioreshore between the tenuis courts and the diversion cut. It had been thought that the disused couJ baskets placed around the. young trees would provide adequate protection. However, some small children have evidently climbed the baskets and tramp ed down the trees inside. Some of the plants will have to be replaced. . Advertising points out the meritsi ot a product and impresses the buyer with its desirability. ■ .
