WHALING COMPANIES
THE JAPANESE ALLEGATION DENIAL BY AUSTRALIA CANBERRA, March 5. (Received March 6, at 0.15 a.m.) The Minister of External Affairs (Sir George Pearce) stated that Australia had not interfered with the operations of Japanese whaling companies in the Antarctic. He added that Japan had twice been invited to join the Antarctic Whaling Convention, but had not done so. ANOTHER DENIAL TOKIO, March 4. (Received March 0, at 0.15 a.m.) The foreign spokesman states that Japan was not invited to join the Whaling Convention.
