DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB

The usual monthly meeting of the Dunediti Jockey Club, held yesterday, was attended by Messrs A. C. Hanlon (chair). L. C. Hazlett, W. J. Coughlan, A. N. Smith, W. E. Edmond, F, Tyson, J. A. Mathewson, L. Potter, B. S. Irwin, J. Cook and Dr Batchelor. A statement of the recent autumn meeting, which showed a small profit, was received and noted. Satisfactory reports were received from the stipendiary steward, racecourse inspector and gate superintendent. In connection with the Rate superintendent's report, it was resolved that in future all passengers in cars entering the lawn enclosure must alight and pass through the turnstiles. A letter was received from conference advising that the club's application to change the dates of the winter meeting to June 23, 25 and 27 would be considered by the Executive Committee on the 13th instant.

A report was received from the Works Committee that the alterations to the two stands at Wingatui were under way and would be completed in plenty of time for the winter meeting. The Works Committee also reported that the new culvert at the seven-furlong post was under construction and nearing completion. Messrs Draper, Garrett and Mathewson were granted nine months' leave of absence. Jles.srs G. A. Kain and A. C. Cambridge were appointed temporary stewards to assist at the winter meeting. Other business of a routine nature was transacted. At a meeting of the District Committee held vesterday the suspension of three months of W. H. At the Wayville trotting meeting the Invitation Race, one mile and a-half, was vi on by David Belmont (scr) from Logan Derby (40yds behind), and Evicus (40yds).
