The fossil of a “ man-faced ” crab, estimated to be 100,000,000 years old, has been found in a piece of sandstone near Longreach, Queensland. It; has been identified as a “ Prosopon Ethcridgeii,” nicknamed “ man-faced ” because of the markings on its shell. Thanks to its discovery at Longreach, Australian Museum exports have come to the conclusion that beyond any scientific doubt the whole of Western Queensland w s once under water. The fossil’s discovery also proves that the bodies of crabs have scarcely changed during the past 100,000,000 years. There are still species which resemble the newly-found fossil.
