MEETING OF OTAGO CENTRE The monthly meeting of the Otago Centre, A.A.A., was held last evening in the Returned Soldiers' rooms. Mr O. L. Tapley presided over a large attendance of delegates. Before commencing the business for the evening the president welcomed Mr F. Reid, of Wellington, one of Otago's delegates on the New Zealand Council. • CORRESPONDENCE. The secretary of the North Otago Amateur Athletic Association wrote applying for permission to hold a championship meeting at Oaraaru on March 14. —It was decided to grant the application on condition that a programme of events was submitted for approval., The secretary of the Toko Club (Milton) advised that it was proposed to hold its' annual fixture on March 7, when A. A. Cameron, M. R. Spillane, and other leading competitors were to appear. The assistance of the centre and local competitors was solicited. —Received. An application was received from Mies Betty Forbes, Oamaru, for recognition of a New Zealand record for her effort of 4ft llin in the High Jump at the Otago championship.—lt was decided to forward the application to the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. A letter was received from Mr Howard T. Yates, Victorian sprinter, who offered to participate in the centre's Otago tour next summer, provided that he was given permission by the Victorian 'Association. The secretary of the New 'Zealand Council advised that the application of H. A. Boult, Gore, for reinstatement had been granted. A letter was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Council advising that application for affiliation by the Drummond Amateur Athletic Club had been granted. GENERAL. Arrangements were made for the New Zealand Championship meeting to be held at the Carisbrook Grounds on February 29. , . .
