PRODUCTION OF STEEL
FIGURES FOR BRITAIN A RECORD LAST YEAR (British Official Wireless) (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) RUGBY, January 13. (Received Jan. 14, at 5.5 p.m.) There was a record production of steel in Britain in 1935, the output bein* 9,842,400 tons, compared with 8,860,000 tons in 19,34, and the previous highest annual output was 9,716,000 tons, established in 1917. The production of pig iron in 1935 amounted to 6,426,400 ton*, compared with 5,979,000 tons in 1934.
