BANDS’ CARNIVAL
A largely attended meeting was held in the Returned Soldiers’ Association rooms last evening to discuss the garden party, organised by the Kaikorai and Highland Pipe Bands, to be held at Littlebourne House on February 15. Over 60 friends and supporters of the two bands were present, Mr E. T. Moller, president of the Kaikorai Band, being in the chair. The chairman outlined the proposed arrangements that had already been made by the Executive Committee, and mentioned that as it was the first opportunity the public would have of seeing Littlebourne House, which has been granted to the city of Dunedin, the Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox) had consented to officiate at the opening ceremony. Conveners for the various stalls and amusements were elected, and committees appointed. It was reported that numerous promises of donations and help had already been received. A women’s committee and the executive will hold further meetings during the week.
At the conclusion of the mooting Mr Moller and his executive were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for the way in which they had carried out their duties.
