ESTIMATED POPULATION
ENGLAND AND WALES LONDON, January 12. The Registrar-general’s return, just published, estimates the population of England and Wales in the middle of 1933 at 40,.•150,000, of which 19,357,000 were males and 20,993,000 females. Marriages in 1933 were 318,191, an increase of about 11,000 over 1932. Live births totalled 580,413, or 33,559 fewer than in 1932.
