CITY POLICE COURT
Monday, January 13. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Charged with drunkenness, Eric Walter Miller was fined 20s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. MOTORIST FINED. Bryan O’Toole, who was represented by Mr A. G. Neill, pleaded not guilty to having driven a motor car over a railway crossing whilst a train was approaching.—After evidence had been heard, a conviction was entered, and the defendant was ordered to pay costs (lOe). A CHARGE WITHDRAWN. Arthur Alexander Reid pleaded not guilty to having cut a corner when turning out of Princes street into Rattray street. —-After evidence by the police and by the defendant had been heard, the charge was withdrawn. A YOUTH IN TROUBLE. A youth, 18 years of age, publication of whose name was prohibited, pleaded guilty to having committed theft by failing to account for £2 11s 7d received bj' him on behalf of William Arthur Ben-fell-—Senior Sergeant Packer said that the complainant, who lived in Gore, had engaged the accused aa« a canvasser, and had given him a quantity of goods to sell. The accused had sold some of the goods, and, while he had returned those he did not dispose of, he had omitted to forward the cash for those which he had sold. Nothing was heard of him for some time, and finally the matter was reported to the police, with the result that he was arrested at Outram. — The magistrate said he did not wish to enter a conviction, and adjourned the case for 12 months, conditional on the accused's making restitution as directed by the probation officer*
