Striking evidence of tLe speedy service that can be . given .to clients by enterprising business firms using air., travel was provided on a, recent public holiday, when a confectioner .inS; Pictbn was suddenly confronted’ by the fact that his seven-year-chi commercial refrigerator had just gone out of order and he was faced with considerable loss of business on the eve of his best selling days of the year. A telephone call to Wellington found the manager- of the firm representing the refrigerator in question, and he in turn located his engineer. Arrangements were madp to secure a seat in the Cook. Strait plane leaving .Wellington at 4.30, and the engineer arrived in Picton and completed repairs- within a few hours, to the great relief of the ice cream vendor.
