' By Sentinel.

Forbury Park Nominations are due to-day for the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting. A Change.. It is reported that Vesuvius has been transferred from V; Alborn’s stable to the one controlled by J. S. Shaw. Saddle' Sitter* Racing under saddle seems to be coming back to favour and saddle-sitters will very probably receive more opportunities in the future. Southern Chief

The Wrack two-year-old Southern Chief has been attracting attention by the bril-liancy-of his track work at Addington. The Crowded Calendar . The fact that the Nelson Trotting Club hag decided to concel the meeting dated for February .1 and 3 suggests the overcrowded calendar.

Indianapolis Indianapolis will be sent an exhibition mile at the Timaru Trotting Club’s meeting. He would probably go to- a faster record on the race track than on the trotting track. The Difference

' - The'difference between theory and practice shows that the 35-minute interval between races is too" short for some punters. Some would still be late if the interval was 60 minutes. Navy Blue

The three-year-old black filly Navy Blue is a perfectly-mannered pacer. She won her third race for the season on the first day of the Greymouth Trotting Club’s recent meeting, and m,ade ; a much older, horse than herself, Doris Derby, step a mile in 2min 14sec to beat her *in the Paparua Handicap. Considering that the footing w r as a trifle loose, a solid performance on the part of Navy Blue to cover the eight furlongs on a four-furlong track in 2min 14 3-ssec. She is by Man-o’-War from a mare by Logan Pointer, and is trained by.S. A. Edwards. She has not been raced over a longer journey than a mile and a-half, but (says “Argus ”) has done everything asked of her, like a real racehorse. She should develop into a remunerative performer.
