CHARGE OF MURDER
DEATH OF INFANT CHILD MOTHER REMANDED FOR EXAMINATION {Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 10. Olive May Kung Yow, aged 27, a half caste Cliiue.se, and the wife of a wellknown Chinese resident of Taumaninui appeared in the Police Court before Air W. R. M'Kean, S.M., this morning charged with the murder of her infant daughter, Nancy King Yow, at Taumarunui on December 2. The police asked for a remand to December 17. "For examination?" asked Mr M'Kean. " Yes, sir," replied Sub-inspector Scott. Mr E. L. Bartleet, who appeared for Mrs Yow, consented to the remand. The magistrate remarked that it was suggested that the accused should be examined by an alienist. " I think that had better bo done," he added. "Huia" is more economical than other butters; it has greater "spreadability." 1335.
