GREEK AMNESTY
EFFECTIVE FROM YESTERDAY COUNTRY RALLIES TO KING (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, December 1. (Received Dee. 2, at 8 p.m.) The Times Athens correspondent says: “ After 20 years of internecine strife Greece seems within sight of a haven of appeasement. The King, by strictly following the narrow path of constitutionalism, has rallied the country to himself. The amnesty, which becomes effective tonight, releases 1000 prisoners in Greece and fugitives abroad, and the way is open to M. Venizelos, General Plastiras and other exiles to return if they wish.”
