TRAINED MASSEURS
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION A meeting of the Otago Trained Masseurs’ Association was held at the Dunedin Hospital on Saturday evening. Those present were Misses Roberts, Kilgour, Gotta, Service, Stedman, Campbell, Blaney, M'Gregor, Allan, Finlayson, Fraser, Fairbairn (Invercargill), Kirk (Gore), Messrs Paris and Smith, The visitors were welcomed by Miss L. M, Roberts, who was in the chair. Miss A. R. Allan, secretary of the branch, read an interesting report of the masseurs’ conference held at Hamner during the Labour Day week-end. After the business had been completed Miss E. Gotts gave an interesting address on “Short Wave Therapy” and the use of histidine in the relief and cure of forms of fibrositis, neuritis, and arthritis. Members showed a keen interest in the possibility. of this latest discovery, and accorded Miss Gotts a hearty vote of thanks for her explanations. Miss Roberts, on behalf of the association. presented a book of modern plays to Miss B. Service, who will leave next week for London to further her studies. The evening closed with a supper party in honour of the visitors at the Vedlc Cafe.
