VIENNA BOYS’ CHOIR

PLANS OPEN TO-MORROW Booking will be commenced to-morrow nt tbe D.I.C. for the series of concerts to be given by the world-famous Viennese Boys’ Choir commencing next Saturday evening in His Majesty’s Theatre. In response to requests from schools the management has arranged special matinees on Monday, Tueday, and Wednesday of next week. The evening performances are limited to four, as the choir must leave Dunedin on December 12. In view of the special appeal of this entertainment for tbe young folk, children will be admitted at half price to all performances. Parties of school children may obtain special concessions on application at the box office. The outstanding feature of the choir’s programmes is undoubtedly the polished and effective performance, in appropriate costumes, of classical operettas by Haydn, Mozart, and Schubert, all of whom were, in their youths, members of this choir. Said tbe Melbourne Age: '• The acting- had all the art of experience; the singing never failed in charm; and the humorous scenes captivated the audience. . . . The art of the Vienna Boys’ Choir may teach composers again how to write for the voice.
