ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS
A. S., Mosglel.—The repeal of the eighteenth (prohibition) article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States was ratified by 38 of the 48 States comprising the Union. The statement In the advertisement was, therefore, accurate. In order to make the ratification valid the affirmative support of 36 States was necessary, and those States which took no action or were against the repeal of the amendment became automatically “ wet ” by the decision of the 38 States to support repeal. Each State has the right to adopt Its own method of control In regard to distribution, alcohol content, and classes of liquor sold. " One of Many.”—As the author of the statement has not replied to the criticism of It, correspondence on the subject seems unnecessary.
