FAMOUS VIENNA CHOIR
COMMENCES NEXT SATURDAY Next Saturday evening, at His Majesty’s Theatre, the celebrated Boys’ Choir of the Imperial Chapel at Vienna will commence a season of four nights and one matinee under the direction ot Messrs J. and N. Tail. The choir has attracted crowded houses throughout its seasons in Auckland and Wellington, and return visits to both cities will be arranged before the departure of the boys from Auckland on December 17. The programme to be presented by the choir on Saturday and on the four succeeding nights will be identical with those which captivated large audiences in Sydney and Melbourne, and more recently in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, ot which a leading press critic wrote; —‘‘The exquisitely refined art of the Viennese Boys’ Choir was displayed to especial advantage last night at the Town Hall, when a large and discriminating audience could not sufficiently applaud the skill of these talented children. No better ambassadors for Viennese music could be found than these charming little people who exchange cassocks for sailor suits and silver wigs for lovelocks, who obey every indication of their conductor with affectionate docility, and bow and curtsy to their audiences with the grace and decorum of cavaliers and court ladies.” In view of the special appeal of this entertainment to the young folk, the management has arranged that children will be admitted at half-price to all performances, and parties of school, children with teachers may obtain special concessions on application to the box office at the D.1.C., where the plans for the season will be opened on Wednesday next.
