At the boat competitions at Folkestone sea-angling festival the Earl of Radnor’s rosebowl for the heaviest aggregate weight of fish taken during the festival was won by Mr T. J. Smith, of Stoke Newington, with 641 b 9oz. Mr Smith caught a conger weighing 301 b Ooz, which is one of the largest fish ever takSn at the festival. Mr Smith won two other cups, two prizes, two medals and was also a membei of the team which was awardee, the Folkestone Challenge Shield. Fifty-one competitors took part, and the total catch was 4921 b. During the two days of the festival 9901 b 7ioz of fish were weighed in.
