Guests at a fashionable restaurant overlooking the sea at Nice had to forego their turtle soup, for which the chef is famous. Thieves had stolen the turtle that was going to provide it. The precious amphibian had been placed in a pond, surrounded by bars, but when the owner of the restaurant went to look at it early in the morning he found that it had disappeared. Thieves had broken through the bars and taken it away. People are wondering how they managed it, for the creature weighed well over 20 stone.
