The quarterly meeting of West Harbour Lodge was held on Thursday, when A.D. Bro. A. W. Rawlings presided oyer a large attendance of members. An invitation from Linden Lodge to attend the meeting on December 3 was accepted. A candidate was initiated by the A.D. and his, officers. The following officers were elected for the ensuing term: —J.P.A., Bro. A. W. Rawlings; A.D., Bro. Harwood; V.A., Bro. G. Paterson; treasurer, Bro. John Connor; 1.G., Sis. Ingle; 0.G., Bro. A. A. Rawlings; A.D. Bards, Bros. Little and Facer; V.A. Bards. Sisters Smeal and Connor; M.C., Bro. J. R. Paterson; pianist, Sis. Paterson; Grand Lodge representative, P.G.P. Bro. W. Connor. An interesting report on the visit to Star of Tuapeka Lodge on November 9 was given by Bros. W. Connor and 1. Johnston. The trip ■was made by bus, 25 members of the lodge making the journey. On arrival at Lawrence the members were cordially received, and the officers of West Harbour took over the meeting. An initiation ceremony was carried out. after which the toasts were honoured of districts presidents of Nos. 1 and 5 districts and visitors. In proposing the toast of “ Star of Tuapeka Lodge,” Bro. Johnston referred to the purpose of the visit that evening, and hoped that it would be the forerunner of many visits of a similar nature. A.D. Bro. Bartlett, in replying, thanked the members of West Harbour for journeying so far to help them along, and expressed the opinion that the visit would long be remembered. In replying to the toast of “ The West Harbour Lodge,” P.G.P. Bro. W. Connor returned thanks to the members of Star of Tuapeka for the generous hospitality extended, and spoke at length on the educational value of the fraternal visits between town and country lodges. Visitors from the North Island, Hampden. Rose of Palmerston, Lily of the* Valley, and Bay Lodges also spoke. The lodge then adjourned, and a delightful musical programme was rendered by several members of-the Star of Tuapeka and West Harbour Lodges. A.D. Bro. Esplin presided over a good attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of Pride of Mornington Lodge, No. 14, on Thursday last. The sick pay list showed a small number of members incapacitated, and the bards reported favourably on these members. Correspondence included the report on the General Efficiency Competition. _ The secretary was instructed to write apd congratulate Linden Lodge on its success. Remits to Grand Lodge were then taken, and evoked considerable argument, the lodge finally supporting all the proposals. Nomination and election of officers resulted as follows:—A.D., Bro'. ' '; , The quarterly meeting of Mistletoe Lodge was held on Tuesday last, VA. Bro. L. G. Cox presiding over a fair number of members. The orrespondence included a challenge for a cricket match from Queen’s Park Cricket Club, Mosgiel, and results and report of the judges on the General Efficiency Competition. The judges were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their excellent report and the secretary was also instructed to send a letter of congratulation to Linden Lodge, the winners of the shield. The bards’ report on sick members was received and sick pay and ac- . countu passed for payment. Bro. Webster reported on behalf of the committee in charge of the weekly euchre tournaments, and Bro. AnderSon, A. Edmund, P. Jacobs, and W. S. Conroy. P.A. Bro, W. Leathley was nominated for position of D.P. of No. 2 District. In order to have more funds available for toys for children’s Christmas tree party, the committee decided to ask ladies to bring a basket on that occasion.

The half-yearly meeting of Bay Lodge was held in the Masonic Mall, St, Hilda, on November 25, A.D. Bro. L. G. Eaglea presiding over a good attendance of members. P.G.P, Brb. C. Jacobson (All Nations), Bro. D. Metcalf, of Ivy of Linwood Lodge (Christchurch), and PA. Bro. W. Leathley (Enterprise Lodge), were welcome visitors. The correspondence _ included the judges’ report on the Efficiency Competition. The lodge was quite satisfied with the report. The lodge passed a resolution of thanks and appreciation to P.D.P. Bro. J. T. Faulds and PA.. Bro. J*. Sinclair for the work so generously given in the interest of Druidism. Linden Lodge, the winners of Ihe competition, were also congratulated. Bro. J. Clinch gave an interesting report on the U.P.S, Dispensary meeting. Bro. R. A. Tyler reported on the arrangements for Children's Day. Both members were accorded a vote of thanks for their reports. The lodge decided to fall in with the other lodges in the district for a church parade. Bro. E. Leathley was elected to the Southern Oak Lodge executive. The secretary was instructed to write to Bro. A. Manderson, Christchurch, and Bro. Dale, Dunedin, complimenting them on being Arch Druids of Perseverance Lodge, Christchurch, and Ivanhoa Lodge respectively—these brothers were formerly Bay members. An amendment to rule 116 was brought forward by P.D.P. Bro. Wilson, and after a general discussion was carried, to be forwarded to Grand Lodge to be dealt with. The election of officers was carried out under th«. control of P.G.P. Bro. C. Jacobson and Bro. W. Leathley, and resulted aa follows:—Arch Druid, Bro. V. W. Couch; vice arch, Bro. J. Leathley; stewards —Bros. R. Leathley, E. Brown and W. Tenbeth. The visitors’ toasts were responded to by P.G.P. Bro. C. Jacobson (All Nations), PA. Bro; W. Leathley (Enterprise), and Bro. D. Metcalf (Ivy of Linwood, Christchurch). The Olive Branch Juvenile Lodge, No. 1, held its fortnightly meeting, and a good attendance was reported. In the absence of A.D. Bro. Calder, PA. Bro. Driver was galled to occupy the chair. Official visits from G.V.P. Bro. Johnston and P.G.P. Bro. Euston were received with Druidic honours. G.P. Bro. Hunt subsequently attended and received a welcome. Three candidates presented themselves for initiation and were received into the Order, the officers carrying out their duties in a creditable manner. Bro, Johnston addressed the lodge at some length and complimented the officers. Bro. Ruston gave an interesting account of his visit to the Homeland via Suez and the many interesting places visited. A ballot was taken for four members to visit Pride of Palmerston Lodge, a combined trip of the various lodges will be carried out at an early date.
