THE PEOPLE'S VERDICT
TO THE EUITOK. •Sir, —In reading your summing up of the elections one is struck by the contradiction there expressed. The political situation and the Labour Party's great success are very dubiously received and the people's sense in doing a 6 they have is regarded as lacking in foresight and reason. When, however, you come to the question of prohibition and its rejection you applaud in the same people the qualities which you suggested they lacked when giving their verdict on the political situation! This kind of summing up reveals, if such were necessary, the unconquerable bias that actuates the Otago Daily Times policy.—l am, etc., November 28. A. [Apparently a microscope was used by our correspondent in the effort to discover an inconsistency between the reasoning employed in the articles. Actually no inconsistency exists.—Ed. O.D.T.]
