THE GREEK REGIME
NOT ALL PLAIN SAILING DIFFERENCES OVER AMNESTY (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) ATHENS, November 27. (Received Nov. 28, at 9 p.m.) The King has signed an amnesty for all political offenders, including M. Ve:iizelos and General Plastiras. Military offenders will not receive a full amnesty, only a pardon, which means that they will not recover confiscated property and will not regain rank. It is' not certain whether this will satisfy the Republicans, two of whom refused to go to the palace when summoned by the King for consultation. M. Koridylis returned from the palace at midnight empty-handed, the King having refused to sign the amnesty unless everybody was included. Immediate formation of a new Government seems indicated unless a solution is found. KING DEFERS DECISION
ATHENS, November 28. (Received Nov. 28, at 10.15 p.m.) The majority of the members of the Cabinet object to the promulgation of the amnesty decree, which includes the leaders of the revolt; consequently, M. Kondylis visited the palace to explain to the King, who deferred his final decision. M. VENIZELOS'S RETIREMENT PARIS, November 28. (Received Nov. 28, at 10 p.m.) M. Venizelos says he does not intend to return to Greece. .His retirement is definite.
