ELLERSLIE TRACK WORK

(Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 28. Weather and track -conditions were good at Ellerslie this ; morning for the final gallops in connection with the Takapuna Jockey Club's spring meeting, which opens on Saturday. The course proper, on which the poles were out 60 feet from the rails, was available, and the No. 3 grass and tan and two-year-old tracks were also open. Several sound gallops were recorded, among them being those of Crooning, Kiltowyn, Kelly, and Tray Bit. On the course proper Chief Emerald and Supreme Ruler reeled off half a mile in 52 l-ssec. It was a good effort, and Chief Emerald showed to the more advantage. Red Flame was given an easy six furlongs, which was covered in lmin 26 •2-ssec. 'She looks all the better for her race at Pukekohe last Saturday. ■ Eleetwind finished in front of Imaminfc over five furlongs, which occupied lmin 7 2-ssec. Tidalia and Enlightenment covered six furlonars in lmin 21sec. ' The former, who finished in front, went particularly well.
