THE ROYAL BABY
VISIT OF KING AND QUEEN Three days before leaving for Sandringham and three days prior to the birth of the little Prince, the King drove alone to 3 Belgrave square to see the Duchess of Kent and to take tea with her (says our London correspondent, writing on October 26). Within half an hour of their return from Saridringham this week, the King and Queen went to see the Duchess and their new grandson, then exactly two weeks of age. The King and Queen were with the baby for more than half an hour, and they then saw the Duchess, was has made excellent progress. After taking tea with the Duke, their Majesties returned to Buckingham Palace. The Duke and Duchess of Kent have taken Adsdean, Lord Louis Mountbatten's house, near Chichester, as a country residence for the winter. They do not propose to remain there all the time, but to come and go as engagements require. The Prince and Princess Nicholas of Greece are to stay at 3 Belgrave square. The King and Queen are expected to remain at Buckingham Palace until after the christening of the baby Prince, which, it is understood, will take place in the third week of November.
