WOMEN'S DIVISION N.Z. FARMERS' UNION
Reports of meetings of branches are requested, but they ehould be furnished promptly, for the publication of reports that are not supplied within a week from the date of, the meeting cannot be assured.
The Owaka branch held the last meeting for the year recently. Mrs J. Holland (president) was in the chair. , A table of goods was sold.in aid of union funds. Greetings were exchanged between the officers and members.
The Kelso branch met on Tuesday afternoon at "Toropuke," the home of Mrs A. Herbert, founder of this branch. The competition, which was won by Mrs A. Wilson, was a piece of coloured embroidery, and the roll call was a limerick. After tea the members spent some time in viewing the beautiful gardens at "Toropuke." At the conclusion of the meeting a vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Herbert for her kind invitation.
The Tahatika branch' met in the hall on Wednesday. Mrs Roulston presided, and a pleasant afternoon was spent. Mrs Callander won the prize for the competition. The Christmas party was planned on a modified scale this year. Miss M'Nab gave a demonstration on " decorating a cake."
