DEFENCE RIFLE SHOOTING

KAITANGATA CLUB. The Kaitangata. Defence Rifle Club fired the final stage of the Lee Cup second competition on Saturday. The afternoon was fine, with a dull light and a light breeze blowing from the, right. The following are the highest scores: —

DUNEDIN CLUB. The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club shot the second competition for prizes presented by President W. Baimerman on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of 17, and 10 shots (two optional sighters) each were firod at .500 and GOU yards. Weather conditions were fine, but a variable breeze and dull light requited care. The best score at 500 yards was 49 by Rifleman G. 11. Smith, afu'l Rifleman J. L. Benfell was first at 600 yards with 46. Riflemen J. L. Benfell and G. H. Smith headed the day's aggregate with 93 each, the former taking pride of place on the count back. The following are the highest scores:
