MR HUGHES'S POSITION
RESIGNATION FROM CABINET NUMBER OF PROTESTS LODGED SYDNEY, November 7. (Received Nov. S, at 0.5 a.m.) The Canberra Sun representative says friends of Mr Hughes in the Government Intend to seek reconsideration of his case with a view to his return to the Cabinet. It is understood that there is a large body of public opinion, including returned soldiers, in Australia on Mr Hughes’s side and the Prime Minister has received a number of protests against what has been described as precipitate action in excluding him from the Ministry.
