LOWER FLORIDA SWEPT EIGHT DEATHS AT MIAMI MIAMI, November 4. (Received Nov. 5, at .10 p.m.) A tropical hurricene, with wind vfllocitfes exceeding 100 miles an hour, swept from the Bahamas in a southwesterly direction across Lower Florida Peninsula to-day, causing a number of casualties and much property damage here. Possibly the hurricane was more disastrous in Florida Keys, from which area the communications have been disrupted. The full force of the gale. hit Miami Beach and Palm. Beach in the middle of the afternoon* and it has been reported that eight were killed at Miami, mostly from crumbling buildings and homes. Several coastwise liners were forced to seek shelter, and one craft, which has not been identified,.fired distress signals a mile off the exclusive resort section of Miami Beach.
